Day Five | March 4, 2021
Gila Bend, AZ to Casa Grande, AZ
Today was a beautiful sunny day heading out of Gila Bend — a cool morning, but mid-day temps in the 70s.
Every day has some highs and lows. The highs: the nice smooth roads early in the day. We followed the rail line a good part of the day which means relatively flat riding.
Off to the side of the road was the largest Holstein Farm imaginable. It had to have stretched for a mile. How do they milk that many cows?
The lows: awful road for the last ten miles heading into Maracopa, with a 2-foot shoulder and, naturally, a rumble strip placed on the white line. To top it off … trash trucks heading to the landfill and jerks on their horns.
Looking forward to tomorrow.
