Day Twenty Seven | March 26, 2021
Navasota, TX to Cleveland, TX
Another day of rolling hills.
We have ridden on the “Texas Hill Country Trail“, the “Texas Independence Trail” and now the “Texas Forest Trail.” They are not trails, but a series of roads designated as “trail.”
The scenery changed dramatically from farmland to forested land with large pine trees. A quote from the Fulgeries: “This time a donkey with the cows. Been one big farm/ranch since San Diego. Never realized how much of our country is agricultural.“
We are all very tired. We thought we would get stronger, which we have, but we all underestimated the toll of repeated days of cycling. Also, today, we had 8 mph wind in our faces and the roads were rough. We got to our hotel at 3 p.m. today, so have had time to rest before dinner.
