This coastal bicycling tour is  ridden exclusively by Cycle of Life Adventures.

This tour is more than cycling. There is history on the Outer Banks. We’ll follow along the network of lighthouses and life saving stations that served these waters known as “The Graveyard of the Atlantic”. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is the most famous. We’ll also visit the Bodie Island, Hatteras, Ocracoke Lighthouses as well as Old Baldie Light house on private Bald Head Island where you reside for the first two nights.

Our ride winds through the marshlands, where we will see an abundance of bird life in the creeks and grasses. We will be bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the west by Pamlico Sound. On several days we have ferry crossings on the Cape Fear river or the Palmico Sound

We stay in beautiful small coastal towns in a variety of cottages, small inss and B&Bs. You will enjoy healthy breakfasts, picnic lunches and dine out each evening for dinner. If you are a seafood lover, this is your tour.

This is the perfect time of year to jump start your fitness routine with some flat coastal riding. The Summer sun is still at a low angle, so the temperatures will be perfect, the roads will not be crowded with seasonal tourists and the town of Wilmington has a nice cycling trail, The Mountains to the Sea Trail

We categorize this route for recreational cyclists. A cyclist should be comfortable riding over bridges, on roads with small shoulders and in light traffic. A cyclist should feel comfortable riding 20-40 miles and more if desired. While some of our cycling days may be 30-60 miles in length, a support and gear vehicle is available at all times. So, you can ride as little or as much as you would like.

Guest Testimonial:

"The Outer Banks tour offers much variety.  There are historical sights, scenic waterfront spots, quaint villages, good restaurants for recharging in the evenings and great bike riding.  Dennis and Elli do everything possible to manage the logistics and minimize the amount of time riding in the van.  I have done tours with several different companies.  I believe Cycle of Life Adventures did the best job I have experienced in planning and executing a tour.  I highly recommend them to other cyclists."  Len - Phoenix, AZ
