Portland, Olympic Peninsula, Seattle Bike Tour

According to the League of American Cyclists, the state of Washington is #1 for cycling and the city of Portland, OR is rated the 3rd most bicycle friendly city in the US.

On our "POPS" tour, short for Portland - Olympic Peninsula - Seattle, we will experioence cycling the Pacific Northwest in all of its glory as we ride these spectacular roads and trails, but you will experience the beauty and thrill of this picturesque landscape these two states have to offer.

We venture out of Portland, experiencing the winds created by the Columbia River, and we can guarantee that they will always be at our back. But the views  we take in of snow capped mountains, vineyards and Mount St Helens will take your mind off any headwind. As we follow the coast of Washington northward, we experience small coastal towns dotted with lighthouses, state parks and The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. The coastal area of Washington offers some of the world's longest beaches, scattered with outcroppings of "Sea Stacks", vertical rock formations jutting from the Pacific Ocean. As we head into the middle of Washington, the great Olympic Mountains will always be over our right shoulder, as we circle north and east. along the Strait of Juan de Fuca is Washington state's carefully developed Olympic Discovery Trail. This multi-use path follows and traverses 130 miles of lowlands, bordered on the south by the Olympic Mountains and on the north by the Strait of Juan de Fuca. For miles, we have sweeping views of our neighbors to the north in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Discovery trail has put to good use 5 decommissioned railway trestles, some of them scaling ravines 80 feet deep. The trail takes in the beautiful, historic waterfront town of Port Angeles before ending. From there we ride through additional state parks before ending our tour at the Olympic Peninsula Gateway Visitor's Center and what a trip of cycling through magnificent Pacific Northwest!
