Explore the Bold Coast: A Cycling Journey Beyond Bar Harbor

The Bold Coast tour offers a distinctly different cycling experience from most coastal Maine adventures, where rides typically center only on Bar Harbor. While we begin our journey with two days in this iconic town, giving you time to soak in Acadia National Park, explore bustling streets, and savor classic tourist favorites, we quickly venture beyond the expected.

During your Bar Harbor stay, you’ll have ample opportunity to:

  • Ride the renowned 50-mile network of scenic carriage roads
  • Wander around town by bike or on foot
  • Discover hidden coves and coastal gems

From Day 3 onward, the tour heads north along what locals call “The Bold Coast”—a rugged, windswept stretch that traces the shoreline through authentic fishing villages and quiet harbors. We cycle from Winter Harbor to Eastport, then cross the border for a visit to the Roosevelt Campobello International Park in New Brunswick.

This is classic Down East: blueberry patches, lobster pounds, rustic coastal inns, and the rhythm of the sea. For those seeking laid-back rides and memorable moments in unspoiled settings, this journey is the perfect match.

On the Final Day
Choose your own adventure: opt for a relaxed morning ride, a hike along rocky seaside cliffs, or a peaceful paddle in a calm bay if time allows. Afterward, we’ll shuttle you back to Bar Harbor and the Bangor airport.

Note: Coastal breezes and cooler temperatures are part of the charm—be prepared for changing conditions. Internet and cell service will vary throughout the tour’s more remote areas.
