In this part of Mississippi, you can enjoy bike routes fit for any level of cyclist, smooth quiet roads surfaces of the Natchez Trace and quiet streets in small towns.
The tour starts just north of Jackson, MS, the heart of the deep south.
Our route takes us south on the Natchez Trace and into small cities and towns.
Along the way, you will experience dozens of historical markers, The site of the first gun shot of the Civil War, ancient burial grounds, history of enslaved people and the triumphs to their freedom
This tour is perfectly timed at the beginning of Spring. So, you avoid the vacationers and tourists.
If you like quiet roads for cycling, wonderfully warm innkeepers and an abundance of American History, this is a perfect tour.

Itineraries
Day 1 – Ridgeland, MS to Vicksburg, MS using the Trails and The Natchez Trace Pkwy | two nights in a charming B&B
Ride the iconic Natchez Trace Pkwy, Snacks enroute and a late pic lunch in Vicksburg 63.9 miles, 2389’ elevation
Day 2 – Vicksburg, Mississippi | National Battlefield | Historic Downtown
Cycle the urban streets of historic Vicksburg, ride the quiet National Park roads in Vicksburg Battlefield. Have a cocktail overlooking the Mississippi River from the penthouse of a downtown landmark. 22 miles, 1649 ‘ elevation
Day 3 – Cycle to Port Gibson , Mississippi
Ride Natchez Trace Pkwy | Have a laid back evening at Isabela B&B Enjoy a quiet ride on the trace, followed by a relaxing walk about town to explore old cemeteries and historic churches 43. miles, 2157 elevation Group Dinner
Day 4 – Port Gibson to Natchez
Ride quiet back roads that take us back to Windsor Ruins, A.K. Shaifer House and Alcorn College. Fried chicken carry out lunch from a secret spot in Lorman. Explore Ancient Indian Mounds 61.2 miles, 2753’ elevation Group dinner
Day 5 – Natchez History downtown
Enjoy the Antebellum and Civil War History of Natchez Walk the beautiful spring gardens of various intown mansions. Enjoy a horse drawn carriage tour. Shuttle back to Jackson, MS to catch a flight home or a lift back to your cars 11.1 miles and maybe more if you are fast, 2838’ elevation Group Lunch
