“The Heat Is On” is designed for avid cyclists—and you know who you are.

NEW FOR 2027! We have developed the perfect eight-day winter cycling training vacation for our more advanced cyclists.

This remarkable route takes you from Amelia Island, the northernmost island of Florida, to the southernmost point of Florida, Key West.

Towns of interest include: St Augustine, Daytona Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami  and Key West just to name a few.

You will experience 585 miles of beautiful shoreline, our country’s oldest cities, glamorous Miami, the East Coast Greenway, hundreds of miles of barrier islands and beautiful beachfront communities.  Our riding surface is almost exclusively paved with a few hard packed sand or gravel connecting roads. The bike of choice should be a comfortable road or gravel bike.

As a rider, you will push yourself to cover this 585 mile in just eight riding days. This route is flat with just 2816 feet of elevation gain. That is 28 hundred feet not 28 thousand. We have examined the weather patterns and hope that winds out of the north and northeast hold true to history. But there are no promises.  You will get your rest day at the end of day eight in the resort town of Key West. Along the way, we take care of breakfast, lunch and dinner (except one night on your own). You’ll have one evening in Marathon on you own to scout around and enjoy the area.

Accommodations are all lovely hotel and resort locations in our layover towns. Meals are nice quality and healthy options.

Florida is popular at this time of year, so book with us early to help us get great accommodations and dinner reservations for you. This tour will take only 13 riders.

Orientation: Feb 8, 2027, 5:00 PM held on the night before we ride.   Your hotel accommodations are located at the Hampton Inn Historic District in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. This is not your parking location if you are driving to the start. Please inquire.
